Wedding Stationery

A guide to organising your wedding stationery.

When a wedding invite drops through their letterbox the excitement starts to build and everyone begins to talk about your wedding. Your invitations set the tone for your big day but they are often the area that a bridal couple tries to cut costs. Even on a budget, wedding stationery is often essential but by sticking with these handy tips you can dramatically reduce your costs.

Wedding Stationery Tips.

Consider all the wedding stationery you require at the outset; response cards, menus, name cards, thank you cards and order them at the same time as the invitations. This way the vendor may be able to provide a discount.

Order your wedding stationery in plenty of time. If the printers need to do a rush job you may incur extra costs. Be sure to order at least 10 spare invites, just in case. Bulk orders usually cost a lot less than having to have extras later. Make sure you have someone proofread your invites carefully. You do not want reprinting costs because of simple errors.

Remember that the words on your stationery should be exactly as you want. If you’re not having a traditional wedding you can ignore the rules of ‘request the pleasure of your company.’. Try ‘We’re delighted to invite’ instead – it can often be seen as more personal and less formal.
